We’ve made it possible to debug the React Native apps from WebStorm using Chrome runtime which is shipped with React Native. Fixing the issue with debugging the apps using Node.js 8 requires non-trivial changes on our side. We’d really appreciate your feedback on using the Chrome runtime. If it’s positive, we’d prefer to make it the default option.
To use it, you should select Chrome as Debugger process in React Native run configuration. Also, for Chrome versions starting from 59, you may add command line switches to start it in headless mode:
