When routing in Ad-hoc network based on MIMO-links, the metric of a route item may be much different from what we see in ordinary Internet enviroment. For example , the range-link could bring larger coverage to avoid link breakdown but a larger silent(inhibit) area. In MIR protocol, the metric is given as Q=sum(i=0->h:fi*fi/ri), where a route with a low fi (extension factor) and high data rate(ri) is prefered. But this equation ignored the factor that for different intermediate nodes, the node density could be much different and the effect of the fi and ri should be also reevaluated. So a better choice should be an extra weight factor for each hop in this route.

    As mentioned above, a low fi and high data rate is prefered. And also, to take the delay into consideration, we have an extra field ofthe transmission delay of a node in the route field. That is ,we will evaluate the delay of a route with the sum of transmission delay in each intermediate node.
