I’m good at nonquantum computing myself, so it’s quite possible that if quantum computing takes over, I won’t be able to do the new stuff. My life’s work is with computers not because I’m interested so much in computation, but because I happen to be good at this kind of computing. Fortunately for me, I found that the thing I could do well was interesting to other people. I didn’t develop an ability to think about algorithms because I wanted to help people solve problems. Somehow, by the time I was a teenager, I had a peculiar way of thinking that made me good at programming. But I might not be good at quantum programming. It seems to be a different world from my own.——Knuth
