[泛读1] A reliability evaluation framework on composite web service (SOSE, 2008)

1. 本文讨论了一种组合服务的reliability建模方法, 分为3个层次
(1) atomic web service
具有一个failure intensity parameter和fix time(服从指数分布), 假设failure之间相互独立.
使用了常用的time-dependent Markov model来推导service reliability的公式(用到了Kolomogorov's equation).
(2) node
相当于service class, 其中一个为primary web service, 其他为backup web service. 使用Markov chain计算reliability.
(3) composite web service
借用Cardoso的Stochastic Workflow Reduction方法计算组合服务的reliability.

2. 整篇论文比较简单, SOSE也只是一个很普通的会议.

    本文主要提出了一个"framework of evaluation under reliability"(原文如是), 看了abstract, introduction和conclusion后, 还是不清楚本文思路, 另外, 文章英语语言也不太好, 不打算读全文了.

[泛读3] A software reliability model for web services (IASTED, 2004)

1. 本文提出了一种针对atomic/composite web service reliability的模型(SORM: Service-Oriented software Reliability Model),
对于atomic web service, 使用group testing and majority voting方法来预测其reliability(S2). 这种方法要求每个service都有alternative services, 一个request会发给所有这些功能等价服务, 并根据群体执行的结果来确定个体是否可靠.
对于composite web service, 使用architectural-based模型来估计, 即根据不同的组合模式(文中提到了sequence, choice, loop, concurrency), 提出相应的计算公式(S3). 有一点跟其他论文不同, 本文的模型考虑了条件语句(对于condition, loop结构)的reliability.
