New addition to UFED mobile forensics product line enables investigators to obtain leads in minimal time from call and messaging patterns and contact linkages across multiple devices
Petach Tikva, Israel – 12 September 2012 – Cellebrite, the leading developer and provider of mobile data forensic solutions, today introduced the latest addition to its UFED Series: UFED Link Analysis. This new product augments existing UFED analytics capabilities, allowing field investigators to rapidly visualize key relationships between suspects and identify important patterns and anomalies based on comprehensive mobile device data. The UFED Series is the first mobile forensic solution to deliver data visualization based on a complete range of existing, deleted and hidden data from multiple mobile devices, providing accurate, actionable context to investigations.
Law enforcement, military, private, and corporate investigators can use UFED Link Analysis to generate leads in the early hours of an investigation. Whether this brings about more in-depth analysis, a crime prevented, a suspect’s apprehension or a victim’s rescue, visual analytics can shorten investigations and make operational planning faster and more efficient.
“The more we can do in the field to identify leads and cut short criminal operations, the faster we can complete our investigations,” said Dan Morrissey, commander of the Intelligence Operations Group of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s IMPACT anti-gang task force. “We routinely find suspects and crime scenes with multiple phones. We need a quick but thorough way to see whether relationships exist between their users, and if so, to what extent. UFED Link Analysis has that capability, so it’s a huge advantage to the way we work.”
By integrating multiple mobile device extraction reports on a single screen, UFED Link Analysis:
- Reveals people’s direct and indirect links via their calls, text messages, chats, and application transactions.
- Shows how strongly connected people are, including whether they share connections, across multiple devices.
- Enables investigators to associate people within groups.
- Filters data by time and date, number of times contacts connected, and categories;
- Searches data by keyword such as names, addresses, area codes or other information.
- Helps pinpoint both regular and irregular activity patterns.
"Our customers have a defined need for a practical data visualization tool that can fill a gap between mobile data extraction and decoding, and complex mobile data analytics," said Ron Serber, Cellebrite Co-CEO. "With its graphical representation of people’s connections and activities and streamlined infrastructure, UFED Link Analysis makes it easier for investigators to identify the next steps they need to take.”
