His parents don't like him to go to the cyber cafe.

他父母不喜欢他去网吧。

cyber表示电脑的，和电脑有关的；也表示和网络有关的。 cyber singer就是指网络哥手； cyber space就是指网络空间； cyber cafe就是指网吧，也有人称为internet cafe。

他发誓绝不再作那样的事。

vow表示发誓。可在vow后加that引导出发誓的内容，也可用vow to do something。上句可写成：He vowed never to do that again.

例：
He vowed to do his best to win the game.
他誓言要全力以赴赢得比赛。

goody是比较口语的说法，表示好吃的东西，糖果，吸引人的东西。

例：
Each child here can take a bag of goodies home.
这里的每位孩子都能拿一袋糖果回家。

We substituted pencils for pens.

我们用铅笔来代替钢笔。

substitute表示以...代替。
注意上句中substitute后的pencils不是被替换的，而是用来替换pens的。如果要明确表明用...替换...可加介词for。 substitute A for B就是用A来替换B。
例：We substituted honey for sugar.我们用蜂蜜来代替糖。
