TOEFL and Trend of Studying Abroad

Hey.guys, this is Jack from Shanghai, how's everything going?

Today, this was my first time to take the popular TOEFL(test of English as foreign language) test. Excitement and passion was in my mind, but enthusiathm for trying a new thing brought me a lot of fun.

 

TOEFL is hot in China for years, with the rapidly increasing number of Chinese exchange students year by year. I cannot imagine there are some other tests like TOEFL that could catch that much attention of people. Since the reform and opening-up in 1978, there've been more and more cultural and economical exchange between China and other countries. Rich families wish to send their children to study abroad, not only to expand their horizons, but to make their future life better.

 

However, the irretional trend of TOEFL also let me worry about the reality of the education itself. But it relects one of the current situation, that most of people equal studying abroad as the best way to get the achievements.  In my idea, education is not where we learn or what we learn. Education is all about how we learn. Life-long learning and initiatives to learn is what matters.   After all, education is not simply made up of money. If we think so, we will really lose more than what we will get from that.

Hope all of us who have the enthusiasm to learn would get what they just need.
