With Cars, No License Plates
Driving cars in popular cities in China like Shanghai is a super challenge for a normal person. Among those problems, the most hard one lies in the super irrational race of the license plate auction system. Recent years, buying a license plate is getting more and more challengeable for every individual person here in Shanghai. People with money,but failing in getting one license plate are everywhere.
How can it be?
Let's talk about the game rules in the auction. The rules is not as same as a normal auction. The whole process of the 1 hour auction is divided into 2 stage. First 30 minutes, you have one chance to submit your price to ensure the system know , you would take this auction this time. So any price would be ok, such as 100 yuan. The next 30 minutes is the second stage. In this stage, candidates would have 2 chances to submit their price. There will be a basic price. The price submitted would only can be +100, +200, +300 or etc above the basic price. The auction would give the offer the license plates to the top 8000 guys. So the later you submited the price, the more chance you will get in this game. So the most crucial time is at the last 10 seconds(11:29:48 ~11:30:00). In this 10 seconds, you will have to click the price button and input the verification code, and click the submit button at last.
Considering about the Internet connection speed, you will usually get stuck in the last 10 seconds. Also, the usual number of the license plates are 8000. But the people attending the crzay auction would be more tahn 20,000. Such a big competition.
That is why it's so hard to drive a private car in Shanghai.
