Stare at :to look at sth directly for a long time :直勾勾盯着看

Gape at :with your mouth open especially when you are scared or surprised.吃惊不小,张达嘴。

Gawk at :in a way that looks stupid 傻乎乎看

做伴随状语和原因状语。With 后面的名字与其后的形容词、副词、介词在逻辑上是主谓关系。

2) With +n.+doing Eg:She entered the hall with everybody staring at her.

3) With + n. + prep Eg:With a book under his arm,he came in

4) With +n. +adj .Eg:With the window open,I was greeted with perfume of jasmine(茉莉花).

5) With +n.+done Eg:With the daughter taken good care of,the couple went on vacation.

6) With +n.+to do Eg:With so much work to do,he stayed up all night.

-are :big light or noise.

Flare v.闪耀 glare :v.照耀 beep :to make a short ,high sound.

Beeper/pager :bp机 toot (喇叭)嘟嘟

Ring :eg:My ears are ringing .我的耳朵嗡嗡作响。

9. Come to a stop 停下来

Come to a pause 暂停下来 come to a halt 停下来 grind to a stop :各支一声停下来

Background notes:

Adj: impossible possible important essential 上述四个形容词需要使用it做形式主语

Eg:The criminal got away with public fund.罪犯携公款逃跑。

Run away with .私奔 eg:She ran way with her fancy man.跟情夫跑了。

Walk off with sth :顺手牵羊 Stow away 偷渡

Eg:many early immigrants in America stowed away from South America.
