Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, with a history spanning over a thousand years, is one of the traditional Chinese festival.It falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.Not only does it embody the noble character, patriotism, and concern for the people of the Chinese nation, but it also encapsulates the ancient people's wisdom in following the laws of nature and seeking good fortune while avoiding harm.
This ancient holiday dates back to the time of the Warring States period, when the great poet Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Miluo River in despair over his country's turmoil.To commemorate Qu Yuan's spirit and prevent fish from devouring his body, the people of the village paddled boats and threw rice dumplings into the river.Nowadays, people race dragon boats, embodying the spirit of teamwork and collaboration while praying for prosperity and warding off misfortune. What's more,the cheers and applause of the spectators echo across the riverbanks, creating a festive atmosphere that unites people from all walks of life. People also gather to enjoy delicious zongzi, celebrating with family and embracing a promising future.
It is a major folk festival that integrates worshipping gods and ancestors, praying for blessings and warding off evil, festive celebrations, and unique culinary traditions.
