“电子垃圾”是个很常用的名词，其实这个世界充斥了很多垃圾，本质上这是由熵增原理决定的。

但是电子垃圾还是分层级的，一般来讲，软件化（可编程数字化）程度越低、标准化程度越低、性能越低的电子产品，其电子垃圾系数就越高。

这个原理可以从一个侧面看出，日本70年代投向模拟家电的决策错误从而在战略上输给美国人（甚至韩国人）的实质。（这倒不是说数字电子设备就不垃圾，比如三星的手机全是些垃圾，但是相比数字而言，模拟的设备就淘汰得（不能满足用户多变的需要）更快，垃圾程度更高而已）。
