New Idea About Screen Auto Rotate

Nokia n82 is my first mobile phone with accelerometer inside and it has an ability to rotate the screen automatically by the senses of gravity. And this design is nowadays used in many different phones.

But, here’s the thing. When you lying down on your sofa and want to use your phone in a portrait mode, this design sucks:

Is there a one touch widget to enable/disable the auto-rotate feature? it gets annoying when i lie down and navigating through settings is a hassle

I can’t stand iPhone’s auto-rotation feature, e.g. rotate your phone just past some threshold, and the screen rotates from portrait to landscape.

This is always tripping me up, especially when I’m lying down and simply want to read my iPhone in portrait mode.

Is there a way to just disable the feature altogether?

And , I’ve got some new idea to make this autoratating better.

Using the front camera and facial recognition system to determine which way the user is holding the gadget. No one will watching their phone or pad with a tilted head. All we need to do is write a program to take a photo using the front camera when the accelerometer senses the rotating and then find the user’s eyes which tells to rotate the screen or not.

But this method only works with sufficient light.

When in the dark, using a added proximity sensor to do it is cool. But why not just disable this autorotating feature when the camera take a picture and find out it’s totally black?

I’m new to programming on mobile phone, so I hope any greate programmer will finally write this program for android or any other phones. I really need it. :>
