在一个句子中, 主语和"宾语"指向同一个事物, 是否宾语要用反身代词 self, selves?

要视上下文而定, 或者说这个句子的含义而定, 不能一概而论.

例如:

The police were not guilty of the violence imputed to them.
警方并未犯过强加于他们头上的暴力行为。 (来源: 朗文高阶4版,impute词条)
这个句子中的them不能换成themselves.

An object may have two or more forces acting on it and, since these are vectors,
