When you are signing in to Messenger, you receive an error number 80040111
Generally this means that the MSXML library may be corrupted and may have to be reinstalled
Please try the following to resolve the issue
1. Re-register msxml3.dll
1.a Click on Start and Run and type in Regsvr32 %windir%\system32\msxml3.dll
1.b If the file can be located and is available you will see a window popup "DllRegisterServer in C:\Windows\System32\msxml3.dll is succeeded". If this fails proceed to next step or if sucessful proceed to Step 3.
2. Reinstall MSXML3
2.a Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=28494391-052b-42ff-9674-f752bdca9582&displaylang=en and download the the latest service pack of the MSXML library.
2.b At the bottom of the page click on the link msxml3.msi and proceed through the wizard to complete installation.
3. Restart the computer and then sign into Messenger again.
