Dragon Boat Festival

​The Dragon Boat Festival is said to be set up in memory of Qu Yuan, a minister in the Spring and Autumn Period. He was slandered by the wicked. Honest and kind, he finally chose to commit suicide in Miluo River. Villagers living nearby rowed to the river to look for Qu Yuan's body and threw rice balls, eggs and realgar wine into the river to prevent fish and shrimp from eating it. Later, the custom of eating zongzi and rowing dragon boats gradually formed.
​In my hometown Longkou, we don't have very complicated activities to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. On that day, we will eat zongzi and eggs. Of course, it is sweet zongzi. We will also hang wormwood at the door and tie the five colors rope to the child's wrist. The custom we follow now is not only the memory of him, but also the inheritance of the spirit. Although some traditions may be gradually ignored, the Chinese spirit represented by the Dragon Boat Festival will be passed down forever.
​Next, I want to share an unforgettable Dragon Boat Festival holiday for me. Different from before, this year, I traveled to Jingdezhen to enjoy my holiday. This is my first high-speed rail trip alone, and I was excited and nervous all the time. But fortunately, the trip was very smooth. I visited the ceramics museum and many ceramic markets. At the same time, I also got many "trophies".
​Although I didn't have a traditional celebration, this year's Dragon Boat Festival really impressed me the most. I also hope that everyone can always enjoy the Dragon Boat Festival in joy.
