no pun intended

为什么在一些英文的文章中会看到作者专门在括号里注明“no pun intended"，而类似的情况却在中文中很少出现？

首先pun作为“双关”来讲的时候，绝大多数都指的是那种有趣的、好笑的双关俏皮话。

比如：
It's not that the man did not know how to juggle, he just didn't have the balls to do it.
那个人不是不会杂耍，只是他没有（杂耍用的）球。
he didn't have the balls - 他没有球。同时也是俚语，他没有睾丸/他没种。

这个时候说话人可以在后面加一个 no pun intended

字面意思“此处无双关”，其实是在此地无银三班两。

表面上看no pun intended是在强调"我不是说他没有种，我只是说他没有球，话赶话说到这了，大家别误会我。"但事实上你是怕大家没有意识到你在嘲笑他没有种。

这是no pun intended的正确用法。

这种语言现象是英语中特有的，所以汉语中很少出现。
