Reflective Journal Final

1.Initially, I was confused and curious about digital multimodal writing. With the teacher's explanation, I had a better understanding of digital multimodal writing. It is the use of audio，text, video, pictures and other multimodal elements. What's more, multimodal writing combines those elements with modern science and technology. Digital multimodal writing can stimulate the writer to develop his thinking, express the writing intention and writing content more intuitively and clearly, enrich the writing content, and attract readers' reading interest. Moreover, digital multimodal writing can help the author adapt to the development trend of modern society by combining modern science and technology.
2.One of the most significant challenges I face in the domain of digital multimodal composition is mastering the art of writing that interfaces with contemporary scientific and technological advancements, a practice entirely unfamiliar to me. Nonetheless, the adage "Where there is a will, there is a way" holds true. Under the guidance of Mrs.Meng, I have acquired proficiency in incorporating auditory, textual, visual, and other diverse multimodal elements into my writing to foster comprehensive thinking and explicit intent, simultaneously generating video narratives as a means of beneficial self-enhancement. What's more, another challenge was trying to add subtitles to videos I created myself.
3.Different communication methods are conducive to improving our communication skills and adapting to different situations and audiences. For example, multimodal digital writing intuitively and clearly expresses the writing content and creative intention, presents the content to the audience from a suitable perspective, and attracts the audience's reading interest.
4.In the creative process of my digital multimodal writing, I initially identify the creative materials, and then establish a framework for my story. Posteriorly, I write the first draft of my story and improve it. Then, I use online resources to find pictures related to digital stories and write storyboards. After that, I use the APP called Jian Ying to create animations, adding subtitles and audio for it. Finally, I add appropriate music for my multinodal writing. After checking, the digital story is finished.
5.When it comes to the most valuable aspect of the course, the study of digital multimodal writing comes to mind. Through English writing classes, I have been exposed to digital multimodal writing, learned to use multiple multimodal factors and online resources to create digital stories. In the process of applying multimodal writing, I adapted myself to the trend of modern science and technology and make use of science and technology to writing, which develops my thinking, broadens my horizons as well as improve my English writing ability and skills. Finally, I have learned how to creat a digital multimodal composition.
