Power outage in Fremont
Sunday, November 21, 2010
5:45am (EST): The last of the damaged hosts has been hot-swapped and the remaining Linodes should have boot jobs in their queues. Please open a support ticket if you are still encountered problems. We will be following up with the facility and will post an update once we understand what caused this. At this point all we know is a severe lightning storm in the area caused a power outage and redundant UPS systems failed.
3:30am (EST): Some hosts were damaged by the power outage and we are working on moving these Linodes to hot standby equipment.
2:00am (EST): Most Linodes should be booted at this time. We are working with the facility to get the balance up.
1:00am (EST): Linodes are continuing to boot. If yours is not up yet it should be shortly. We'll will update again here shortly.
12:30am (EST): We are continuing to work on this. All hands are on deck in order to bring Linodes back up as quickly as possible. We will post additional information as we receive it.
12:00am (EST): This has indeed been a power outage. We are working on bringing hosts and Linodes back up as quickly as possible. Your Linode will be returned to its last state (running/booted) -- issuing (re)boot jobs is not necessary.
