ICA - Image Correction and Adjustment: 图像校正和调整
Image Correction and Adjustment (ICA) module is a hardware unit which is mainly used for correction of geometric distortions caused by camera lens and movement. There are Two ICAs in NPS block, ICA1 is used for Lens distortion correction (LDC) and Electronic image stabilization (EIS), ICA2 is used for TF input frame’s alignment
TF
TF is for temporal denoising, it will take effect in each video frame, for motion area in video frame, ANR will take effect for denoising, and for static area TF will take effect. TF will detect which area in frame is motion and which area in frame is static. TF could also work in single frame snapshot, and be used to blend some high frequency signal back after ANR. TF for static area, ANR for motion area, ANR for both luma and chroma noise reduction.

Automatic Dynamic Range Compression: 自动动态范围压缩
ADRC prevents over-exposure in image backgrounds, without making the overall image darker. This is done by analyzing the histogram and reducing the exposure target. To boost overall image brightness, a nonlinear digital gain is applied to the entire image. The nonlinear digital gain compensates the underexposed foreground of an image and maintains the bright regions. The nonlinear digital gain is called ADRC gain and is implemented through Luma adaptation(LA), global tone mapping (GTM), or local tone mapping (LTM), depending on the target.

zHDR uses a long and a short exposure in a single frame to extend dynamic range capabilities of the sensors. Long and short exposure lines are diagonally interlaced across the entire pixel array in a zig-zag pattern. This enables live preview and video recording in HDR mode and single-shot full-resolution HDR images in capture mode without any shutter lag.

Ubi-focus
Different objects in same scene could locate at different depth positions. Traditional autofocus has difficulty to make all or some of them be focused in the final image. The goal of UbiFocus is generate a final image in which everywhere is well focused. This is a post processing feature which takes five captured images as input. Each image has its own desired pre-determined lens position as a capture requirement. The algorithm combine five images and output one fused image
Opti-Zoom
When zoom into the image, if zoom ratio is high, the quality of cropped and upscaled image is not good. The goal of Optizoom is to produce one high quality zoomed image which is better than the traditional cropped and upscaled zoomed image This is a post processing feature which takes 8-12 images as input. When user zoom into the picture, the algorithm takes the ROIs from the set of captured images, combines them using OptiZoom to produce a high quality zoomed image
Chroma-Flash
When taking a snapshot with flash on, chroma is easily washed out. When taking the same scene with flash off, image is pretty dark but chroma can be preserved. The goal of ChromaFlash is to have a final image which still keeps the brightness as flash is on while also keeps the chroma information as flash is off. This is a post processing feature which takes two captured images as input, one is with flash on and another one is with flash off. The algorithm combines them and output one fused image
