IBM发布与商业版相似的免费DB2数据库

　　为吸引更多的应用服务开发者，IBM周一宣布发布一款免费版的数据库产品DB Express-C，此套产品与正式的商业版没有什么大的区别，只不过，限制了使用的硬件平台。
　　此系统可以在AMD或者英特尔的双内核芯片上运行，最多支持CPU数为2枚，内存必须在4GB以下，同时该免费数据库对使用人数没有限制，看来现在的免费午餐越来越多啦^_^
　　显然这是IBM与Oracle、微软竞争数据库产品的一项重要举措，微软去年在发布SQL Server 2005的Express免费版本，Oracle也发布了免费版Oracle 10g Express Edition。去年免费的开源数据库产品MySQL也日益走红。

Metrics for DB2 UDB Express Server Edition: Licensed by installed server and user license. Both are server and user licenses are required as follows: Each installation of the program must have a separate entitlement. Users are counted as named users. A named user is a person entitled to establish one or more connections to any authorized server install of a DB2 Universal Database product in the customer's enterprise, either directly or through a multiplexing program or application server.

Metrics for DB2 UDB Express CPU Edition: Each CPU available to the installed software must have a separate entitlement
