雅虎BOSS API和Google's App Engine基础上的Mashup应用，一个搜索结果比号称是谷歌杀手Cuil还要好的搜索引擎. 前两天, 作者在blog上说Yuil已经死掉了.
今天Yuil的作者在Blog上更新说, Yuil换了个域名又回来了:Yuil is dead! 4hoursearch is now online. 而且还提供了源代码下载.
为什么叫 4HourSearch.com, 作者说:
Why 4hoursearch? It took 4 hours to write the initial code, 4 hours for it to go from unknown to 20 hits / second, 4 hours looking for a domain name and 4 hours to build the brand new UI. Fortunately, it won’t take 4 hours to find something with it
4小时, 是不是不可思议? 如果你知道作者是Yahoo的平台部门副总裁(Yahoo VP of Platform), 可能就没有那么惊讶了. 让我觉得有趣的是Yuil居然是用Google App Engine. 用Google的运算平台来实现基于Yahoo的Open API的搜索应用, 这才是开放的Internet, 云计算真的很cool.
另外一方面, Yahoo是时候该推出他们自己的GAE了.
