Oracle 11gr2 silent install on Solaris 11

We will not give details on how to do silent installation step by step. Here we just give some key points where you may hit error.

1. oracle support account

You need to specify your oracle support account and password in the response file. If you dont do this, you will hit error when run silent install. This looks not reasonable. Because if we genearete a response file by installing oracle with GUI, we can generate a response file at the last step. This response file may not have the oracle support account and password if you didnt provide it during the GUI installation. But you still have to provide the account and password even you provide a wrong one.

 

2. DECLINE_SECURITY_UPDATES=true

 Here is very important because you may thought setting it to false means no security update
