The physicist Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) discovered that the density of liquid changes according to the temperature. This principle is used in the Galileo-Thermometer.
It is ideal for a gift or decoration. Depending upon the temperature, the glass bulbs in the thermometer either rise or fall. The actual temperature is shown by the lowest of the upper floating glass bulbs. According to the size, ther are 5 or 7 bulbs of different colours, graduated every 2C/4F. The cylindrical reservoir of thermometer is in glass, as are the inner bulbs. The liquid inside this thermometer is neither toxic nor inflammable. |
