Reflective Journal Final

Through systematic learning, my understanding of digital multimodal composing has significantly evolved. Digital multimodal composing refers to the process of creating compositions that integrate multiple modes of communication, such as text, images, audio and video, using digital technologies. It is an approach that recognizes the importance of various forms of media in conveying meaning and engaging audiences.
Undoubtedly, it is common to encounter diversified difficulties and challenges along the way. To effectively engage in digital multimodal composing, I must understand how each mode functions within the composition and how they interact with one another. Additionally, digital multimodal composing requires an awareness of the accessibility needs of diverse audiences. To overcome these challenges, I always consider the visual layout, the use of color, the sequence of images or video clips and the choice of audio elements carefully. And it also helps to promote my computer skills greatly.
Considering different modes of communication can make the learning process more engaging and dynamic. People are able to express their own ideas through various media, which can help cater to diverse learning styles and preferences of the audience. Furthermore, it can enhance their cognitive skills, such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation, as they learn how to balance and combine different modes effectively.
The creative process of digital multimodal composing involves several stages and requires a combination of creativity and technical skills. I need to brainstorm ideas, research the topic and determine the purpose and audience of my composition at first. Then I select multimedia elements and incorporate them appropriately. Finally, the composition is produced. Throughout the creative process, it's important to remain open to new ideas and feedback and be willing to revise and refine.
In a nutshell, the course is a great success. It’s of great benefit to our English learning as well as academic writing. In spite of obstacles and challenges, the ultimate result is undoubtedly promising. As far as I am concerned, I have made great progress and achievements. By practicing digital multimodal composing, I develop stronger communication skills that are valuable in both academic and professional settings. I learn to analyze and interpret visual information, which is crucial for understanding complex concepts and enhancing my visual literacy skills. All in all, I feel extremely glad to engage in this course.
