Q:Just returned from Asia and had a wonderful time. Thanks to these boards we used Konglin and Violet in Beijing and Shen Shen in Shanghai and everything went very well.
The only problem was our trip to Xian where the guide spoke next to no English and the vehicle was too small to hold the three of us.

A:Could you give us a briefing, emdee, on what you saw in Shanghai? I am not very knowledgeable about that city, but might include it in a future itinerary. Thanks in advance.
Random Tip:How bad is Virunga?
A:We really enjoyed Shanghai. Shenshen picked us up from the ship and took us to see the Bund, a shopping street - what they call the 5th Avenue of Shanghai, Some wonderful Gardens, some of the Shanghai slums, Lunch of Shanghai Dumplings and the Jade Buddha Temple. Friends of friends picked us up at night and took us for dinner and then over to Pudong. The lights on both sides were spectacular and we ended the evening at a German beer garden of all places! Shanghai is a vibrant city always on the go.
