代词（pronoun）限定词

限定词不是单纯的一类词，而是指一些对所修饰的名词起特指、泛指、定量或不定量等限定作用的词。限定词作定语修饰名词，位于名词之前。而且限定词位置上总是位于其他形容词修饰语之前。限定词包括以下类别：

1) 冠词 a/an, the
It is a good year for fruit. 今年是水果的丰年。
The clouds broke and the sun came out. 云一散开,太阳就出来了。

2) 形容词性物主代词：my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their
This isn’t my responsibility. 这不是我的责任。
This is our latest price list. 这是我们的最新的价格单。

3) 形容词性指示代词：this, that, these, those, such
Come across to my office this afternoon. 今天下午请到我的办公室来一趟。
It was no joke carrying those heavy bags. 搬这些沉重的口袋不是件容易的事。
Such information was just what we needed. 这些情报正是我们所需要的。

4) 不定代词：all, both, each, every, some, certain, any, either, no, neither, nor等
The teacher had a conference with each student during the term. 这个学期老师和每个学生都交谈过一次。
There's no excuse for such behaviour. 这种行为不可原谅。

5) 名词所有格
The heart transplant was rejected by the patient’s body. 心脏移植被病人的身体所排斥。
Andy’s new dress was so beautiful! 安迪的新衣服太漂亮了！

6) 数词、量词，以及last, next, past 等也属于限定词，如：
There are two reasonable alternatives. 有两个合理的替代方案。
We have plenty of problems. 我们有很多问题。
Let’s go to the next step now. 现在我们进行第二阶段。

7) 疑问限定词 what(ever), which(ever), whose
What colour is that shirt? 那件衬衫是什么颜色？
Which subject have you chosen? 你选了与个科目？

当有不只一个限定词同时修饰名词时，一些限定词习惯上要位于另一些限定词之前。比如all, both, half，以及倍数和分数要位于 a, the, my, your, this, that 等词之前。而基数词，序数词、量词以及many, much, more, most, other, another, certain, last, next, past, additional等则要位于最后，如：

Both her daughters are married. 她的两个女儿都嫁人了。
All the four agencies have vowed to obey the new regulations. 四家机构都已承诺会遵守新规定。
I don't think we should devote any more time to this issue. 我认为我们在这个问题上不应当花更多时间了。
