I have a ReportViewer control embedded in a table, if I specified the height then it would appear but if I wanted it to grow and shrink according to content then the RV toolbar would show, the progress indicator would show but it would not display the rendered report.
In order to get it working I needed to set a couple of the attributes of the ReportViewer - Height and SizeToReportContent.
