Tips for Listening
正文
Dear all,

If you're not sure what to listen to and how to use the materials, here are some tips:

1. You can choose one or two news reports or podcasts, and do intensive listening. When choosing materials, it should not be too difficult. Wall-Street 2-Minute English and BBC 6-Minute English are quite good choices.

2. For the first listening, try to figure out the main idea.

3. Then listen to the episode again, write down key words and information that help you understand the main idea.

4. Do dictation by listen to it again and again (which means you try to write down every word through listening). If you're not sure of some new words, write it down according to the pronunciation, and guess the meaning through its context, then check the dictionary.

5. Then try to read the episode loudly, following the speaker. Imitating his/her pronunciation and intonation.

If you could try this for half an hour, or 20 minutes a day, you'll find yourself a much better listener and speaker by and by.

Hope this will be helpful to you.

Cheers,
Kitty
