1. To change the root password you can execute password if you are already logge din as the root user. If you are not logged in as the root yser youcan execute insteaded *passwd.

2. To change the password for a regular user, you can simply login in as the regular user and execute passwd.

3. If you are changing the root password it will ask for hte new root password.

4. If you are changing the a regular users password.It will ask for the current and password.
