accelerate

accelerare, accumulare和accurate共享一个含义为to的词根,后半截分别是:fast, pile up, care (关心则精确).

He beetled off home. Watch my dust!

In mechanics [力学], acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity [速度] of an object with respect to time. Accelerations are vector [向量]quantities (in that they have magnitude [大小, modulus=模] and direction). The orientation [方向] of an object's acceleration is given by the orientation of the net [净利润的净] force acting on that object. The magnitude of an object's acceleration is described by Newton's Second Law [法则] of motion, i.e. this equation: resultant [having result] force = mass * acceleration. Mass is measured in kilograms and acceleration in m/s ** 2. resultant force的官翻是合力。

Search(Michael Fowler, Momentum, Work and Energy),好像明白了点。 下面按时间顺序(chronological): Considerations and experiments led [lead的过去式] 笛卡尔 to invent the concept of "momentum", meaning "amount of motion“, momentum = p = mv. 他不能解释两个45kg的溜冰者相撞后v=0, 动量=0的情形。惠更斯told笛卡尔to replace speed by velocity,前者是无方向的标量, 后者是有方向的矢量,于是动量守恒。他俩知其然不知其所以然,蒙的+实验结果吻合。牛顿 come to rescue:
v1 = v0 + at => mv1 = mv0 + mat => mv1 = mv0 + Ft
impulse: change in momentum. F = dp / dt, d: difference.
在量子力学里,[physics.stackexchage] Because we often want to find a set of possibilities [可能性] and other things, the importance of the force is diminishing [减少]. The force is the math stuff/smurf of momentum and 哈密顿量。

3. smurf

 Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, and Blaise Pascal are playing hide and seek. Einstein is it, so he closes his eyes and starts to count. Pascal runs off to hide, but Newton doesn't budge [move]. Right [exactly] in front of Einstein he bends down and scratches a box in the dirt, one meter on a side. The he just stands there, right in the middle of the box. Einstein opens his eyes and says "Newton! I found you! You're it!" "No," says Newton. "You found a Newton in one square meter. You found Pascal!"

If it's not a right angle [直角], it's a wrong angle.
2. "Turn left?" "Right."

Clutch control [离合] refers to the act of controlling the speed of a vehicle [车辆] with a manual transmission [传递] by partially engaging the clutch plate, using the clutch pedal instead of (or in conjunction with,一起) the accelerator pedal [petal:花瓣]. The purpose of a clutch is in part to allow such control; in particular, a clutch provides transfer of torque [扭力] between shafts [轴/升降井] spinning at different speeds.

The car horn [汽车喇叭, 号角] exists for a reason, but sometimes knowing exactly when it is and is not appropriate to honk [鹅叫] can get confusing. Honking one's car horn for no reason can result in a fine [罚款] or ticket [罚单]. In New York City, it's illegal to honk your car horn unless there is an emergency circumstance [情况]. The most likely reason the car horn won't honk is a blown fuse [保险烧了], but other likely causes include: Faulty wiring. Faulty horn. Faulty clock spring. Faulty horn switch. A clock spring is a coil of flat wires wound inside an assembly [总成] in the steering wheel [方向盘].

In computing, hardware acceleration is the use of computer hardware specially made to perform some functions more efficiently than is possible in software running on a general-purpose central processing unit (CPU). Any transformation of data or routine that can be computed, can be calculated purely in software running on a generic CPU, purely in custom-made hardware, or in some mix of both.
