In mechanics, acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time. Accelerations are vector quantities (in that they have magnitude and direction). The orientation of an object's acceleration is given by the orientation of the net force acting on that object. The magnitude of an object's acceleration is described by Newton's Second Law of motion, i.e. this equation: resultant force = mass * acceleration. Mass is measured in kilograms and acceleration in m/s ** 2.

Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, and Blaise Pascal are playing hide and seek. Einstein is it, so he closes his eyes and starts to count. Pascal runs off to hide, but Newton doesn't budge. Right in front of Einstein he bends down and scratches a box in the dirt, one meter on a side. The he just stands there, right in the middle of the box. Einstein opens his eyes and says "Newton! I found you! You're it!" "No," says Newton. "You found a Newton in one square meter. You found Pascal!"

Clutch control refers to the act of controlling the speed of a vehicle with a manual transmission by partially engaging the clutch plate, using the clutch pedal instead of (or in conjunction with) the accelerator pedal. The purpose of a clutch is in part to allow such control; in particular, a clutch provides transfer of torque between shafts spinning at different speeds.

The car horn exists for a reason, but sometimes knowing exactly when it is and is not appropriate to honk can get confusing. Honking one's car horn for no reason can result in a fine or ticket. In New York City, it's illegal to honk your car horn unless there is an emergency circumstance. The most likely reason the car horn won't honk is a blown fuse, but other likely causes include: Faulty wiring. Faulty horn. Faulty clock spring. Faulty horn switch. A clock spring is a coil of flat wires wound inside an assembly in the steering wheel.

In computing, hardware acceleration is the use of computer hardware specially made to perform some functions more efficiently than is possible in software running on a general-purpose central processing unit (CPU). Any transformation of data or routine that can be computed, can be calculated purely in software running on a generic CPU, purely in custom-made hardware, or in some mix of both.
