HalfLife不是偶然

读完两篇HalfLife(1,2)的案例分析,更坚定了神作出世绝非偶然的信念。非常的决心,非常的毅力,非常重要的亡羊补牢的能力。亡羊补牢,他们建立起了The Cabal Design Process,使整个游戏有了彻头彻尾的改观,尽管这花了他们1年时间。我相信只有美国人才能发明这样精彩的做法。
 
1. Decentralize your design.
2. Make rough, but global decisions early.
3. Don't design using theoretical mechanics.
4. If you have a one-year schedule, try to reach alpha in eight month to give yourself a few month to iterate your design anew.
5. Create demanding customers for everyone on your team.
6. In the traditional tradeoff of scope, quality, and time, reduce scope to get better results through iteration.
7. Attempt to reduce pipeline stalls by carefully thinking about where those stalls occur in your production pipeline.
8. Using symbolic links to eliminate pipeline stalls and allow as many low-cost late changes to your work as possible.
9. Processes are cheap and disposable
