TEACHER'S COMMENTS
Thanks for attending class today on Making big decisions. I really liked it when xxx ai participated in class during the lesson.
xxxx ai also did a great job using the vocabulary from the lesson content to construct sentences.
Please continue practising your wording for sentence structure,
when and where to use certain tenses as we heard you say "plant some plans" when you should have said "plant some crops/vegetables/ fruits".
Some students also found it difficult to get the correct phrases to explain something, but overall did a good job!
GENERAL COMMENTS
You participated frequently throughout the lesson.
Lesson aim
by the end of this lesson, you will be able to use decision-making idioms and fixed phrases to draw conclusions.
Welcome to class Donghai L.I see you are listening today.Feel free to participate when you are read and do not hesitate to ask me any questions.
Phrases:
“Have” is a verb that means to possess something or to do something. For example, “I have a car.” or “I have a pencil.” “Has” is also a verb that means the subject has done something at some point in their life.
When deciding whether to use is or are, look at whether the noun is plural or singular. If the noun is singular, use is. If it is plural or there is more than one noun, use are.
Was and were are in the past tense, but they are used differently. Was is used in the first person singular (I) and the third person singular (he, she, it). Were is used in the second person singular and plural (you, your, yours) and first and third person plural (we, they).
Fixed phrases to draw conclusions: I get the feeling that; I would say that; I assume that; I get the impression that; It appears to me that; I suspect that; It seems to me that; etc.
Decision-making idioms: follow your heart; have your head in the clouds; think long and hard; soul-searching; see the bigger picture; take calculated risks; practice what you preach, take one step at a time, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, do some soul searching etc.
How do you influence others?
A leader is best when people barely know she exists. When her work is done, her aim fulfilled, they will say:"We did it ourselves"
What could you say to help them understand their own goals?
The best leaders are able to guide others.Imagine you are trying to help a colleague make a career decision.
问他一些问题帮助他了解自己现在最想要什么,如果想要得到他想要的,他现在最应该做什么事情,
Ask him some questions to help him understand what he wants most now. If he wants to get what he wants, what should he do most now.
或者引导他什么东西对现在的他最重要,鼓励他去做一些事情去实现他的想法
Or guide him to what is most important to him now, and encourage him to do something to realize his idea.
