[介词和副词]
(1)表示位置或向着某个方位的移动:The car is in the garage. Come in! When does the train get in?
(2)表示时间: It happened in January. I'll be home in an hour.

语汇法结构

1 动词 |( + 名词短语) | + in | + 名词短语
Get in the back and sit next to Jordi.
They enjob hiking in the mountains.
表示在某个地方的,通常是封闭的或被包围的地方
I'll see you in two weeks, in June.
表示某事发生的时间,通常指明确的一段时间,如一个月或一年

2 动词 | + in
Come in ! sit down and have a drink.
I don't fee like going out this evening.~OK,Lets' stay in.
They were practising a dance and I asked if I could join in.
表示朝着某个封闭的地方移动或置身其中,或表示被看作是内部的某个场合

3 动词 | + in | + 名词短语

We checked in our bags and went through customs.

As punishment,the headmaster kept the children in.
表示某物或某人正朝着呈封闭状的某地移动,或置身其中,或被包含在其中。

4 动词 | + in | + 介词
I think we are in for a storm:look at those clouds.
The police burst in on them while they were having breakfast.
表示多种意思,其中许多是习语

搭配
常见的带in(介词)的动词,后接宾语---语法结构1:
arrive in,believe in,be born in,deal in,get in ,occur in,result in,
be used in,involve yourself in,train someone in,interest someone in.

下列短语动词由in(副词小品词)构成----语法结构2
表示某种移动的动词:break in, come in,jump in,creep in,crawl in,run in,rush in,step in

其他动词:be in, give in ,join in,settle in,tune in:

 We went to see Wayne and Shirley,but they weren't in.
 Thieves broke in and stole Maggie's jewels.

 ask/invite someone in,let something in,phase something in,
 shut something in,take something in (=learn something 学会某事).

 fall in with,go in for,keep in with ,zero in on:

情感: in love/pain/tears; in a bad mood等
困难: in trouble/danger; in a mess等
地方:in bed/hospital/prison/town等
地域:in the north/south(of...),in front(of...);in the distance等
时间:in autumn/spring等/in the morning/evening等
维度:in height/length/shape/size等
