许多人生性慷慨，乐于在物质上给予和分享；但在传福音上，就很难跨出这一步，因为人容易接受有形的物质，而难以相信无形的的救恩。

这首诗歌在70年代末，十分流行，到处可以听到，但近年来似乎已销声匿迹。
它的作者是凯瑟（Kurt F. Kaiser,1934 - ）。

凯瑟原为热门音乐作曲家及钢琴手。 1969年，年轻的凯瑟，放弃了原先炙手可热的事业，与卡玛珂（Ralph Carmichael, 见三月四日）携手合力完成了一部青年圣乐剧「实话实说」（Tell It Like It）。
他们很紧张，生怕遭到各界的苛责，但在音乐的研讨会中发表时，被评为「全国各地的传道人将非常喜爱这本有声的神学」。他们的风格突破了地域及教会的限制，遍及了美国及世界各地。美国德州有一个教会把这部圣乐剧公演了一百一十次之多。

「传给人」及「就是我」（That’s for Me）是凯瑟所作该剧中的两首歌。「传给人」是被列入正统诗集中的少数「新圣诗」之一。 1975年葛理翰在台湾布道，选之为大会的主题歌。

凯瑟的诗歌中最著名的是「祂何等爱你，爱我」（O How He Loves You and Me）。
