The Road to Yukon

Beta 2 - We're still on track to deliver Beta 2 of Yukon by the 1st half of this year (2004).  This beta will be a broader beta than Beta 1 and we're excited about showing off the innovations and business value in Yukon to you.
Beta 3 - We added a 3rd beta for Yukon which is due out in the 2nd half of this year.  This beta will be run in production on mission-critical systems at Microsoft and 15-20 of our customers.  We want to deliver the highest quality database product you've ever seen in the database market.
RTM (Release to Manufacturing) - 1st half of CY2005.  The guidance on this date is entirely based on and can be gated by customer and partner feedback on the Yukon betas.

You can use SQLIOStress utility. You can use this utility to perform stress tests on disk subsystems to simulate Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 read, write, checkpoint, backup, sort, and read ahead activities. The utility was formerly named SQL70IOStress, but it has been upgraded to handle both SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2000 I/O patterns. It has also been renamed SQLIOStress.
