Forget Java to learn Javascript from 0.--Preface

I'm going to start to learn Javascript in this month.

Someone told me you can't learn another language if you already have a native language.

So we need to forget to learn better.Compare to remeber,it's really hard for me to forget.However I like challenge, mission accepted.

Actually I already know the basic thing, but I want to start from 0 now like I also forget what I learn.(I feel I will lose my job now,I know nothing!)

So someone suggest me to learn by a good book like <JavaScript: The Definitive Guide: Activate Your Web Pages (Definitive Guides)>  by David Flanagan 

I would learn through that book.And I would do it like I knew no other program language before.

Actually I knew a little Java,I will note the difference.(It may help)But I still will act/learn like I almost forget everything.
