名词的复数

一、名词复数的规则变化
1）直接在名词结尾加-s。例如：
joke – jokes
general – generals
wonder – wonders
注意：-s在清辅音如/k/，/p/等后面发/s/，在浊辅音如/g/，/b/，/l/，/m/等后发/z/。

2）辅音字母+y结尾的名词，将y变成i再加-es。例如：
fly – flies 苍蝇
laboratory – laboratories

元音字母+y的名词，直接加-s。例如：
holiday – holidays
journey – journeys 旅程
boy – boys

3）-s、-x、-ch、-sh结尾的名词，在词尾加-es。例如：
class – classes
brush – brushes
bench – benches
fox – foxes

词尾-es发/iz/，如glasses/’gla:siz/
如果词尾-ch发/k/,构成复数直接+s，如stomach – stomachs。

4）-f,-fe结尾的名词，大多数直接在词尾加-s。例如：
roof – roofs
gulf – gulfs 海湾
belief – beliefs
chief – chiefs 首领
serf – serfs 农奴
safe – safes 保险箱

有些将-f改成v，再加-es。例如：
knife – knives
leaf – leaves
shelf – shelves
half – halves
thief – thieves
wife – wives
wolf – wolves

少数名词拥有两种复数形式。例如：
handkerchief – handkerchiefs 或 handkerchieves
scarf – scarfs 或 scarves 围巾

5）以o结尾的名词，大多数加-s。例如：
bamboo – bamboos 竹
radio – radios
zoo – zoos
studio – studios 照相室
auto – autos 汽车
kilo – kilos 千克
photo – photos
piano – pianos

少数加-es。例如：
Negro – Negroes 黑人
potato – potatoes
tomato – tomatoes
echo – echoes 回声
hero – heroes

zero的复数可以是zeros，也可以是zeroes

二、不规则变化
1）不规则变化

三、符合名词的复数形式
1）第一组成词变成复数。
daughter-in-law daughters-in-law 儿媳
looker-on lookers-on 旁观者
2）第二组成词变成复数。
grown-up grown-ups 成年人
motor-ambulance motor-ambulances
3）两个组成词都变成复数。
woman doctor -> women doctors
man servant -> men servants

四、惯用复数形式的名词
1）某些名词在一定搭配中，必须使用复数。例如：
make preparations
shake hands with
make friends with
take turns 轮流
take pains 费尽力气
be in high spirits 情绪高
give regards to 向XX问候
make repairs
Congratulations！ 祝贺
the Olympic Games

2）某些名词在作某种意义时常常以复数形式出现。例如：
slippers 拖鞋
