Install & configure Virtuoso on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit
1. in your terminal type:
git clone https://github.com/openlink/virtuoso-opensource.git
2. install dependencies:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install autoconf automake libtool flex bison gperf gawk m4 make libssl-dev
3. navigate to virtuoso-opensource directory and run:
./autogen.sh
4. run the command:
./configure CFLAGS="-O2 -m64"
5. run the command:
make
6. run the command:
sudo make install
7. configue virtuoso
cd /usr/local/virtuoso-opensource/var/lib/virtuoso/db
you will see a file called virtuoso.ini, this is the virtuoso configuration file, you could open this file and costomize virtuoso instance as your needs.
8. start virtuoso
in the virtuoso.ini directory, you run
sudo /usr/local/virtuoso-opensource/bin/virtuoso-t -f &
9. You could go to localhost:8890 to see it's there. :-)
Footnotes:
1. virtuoso cannot be installed in an external disk. You can only install it on the same disk as your system
2. You could actually replace virtuoso's db file if you need. After replacement, restart virtuoso, and you will be able to access the new db file. Go to virtuoso.ini file to configure your db file's location if needed.
