Statistics with index

1. After creating index, there will be a statistics generated.

2. After dropping the index, the statistics will be dropped together. 

When the clustered index of an indexed view is dropped, all nonclustered indexes and auto-created statistics on the same view are automatically dropped. Manually created statistics are not dropped. DROP INDEX (Transact-SQL)
