Recent years have witnessed the thriving of Hollywood movies.Confronted with this phenomenon,there are two radically different perspectives.Some hold the view that Hollywood movies pose a threat to the local movies,while others argue that Hollywood movies boost rather than threaten the development of local movies.Both are reasonable.However,from my point of view,we should regard this dialectically.

Admittedly,Hollywood movies do pose a great threat to the local ones.Actually,the local ones are confronted with severe challenges.One obvious part to be influenced is the box office.Under the external shocks brought by Hollywood movies,fewer people will pay for inferior ones.Thus,it is an unprecedented challenge for the local ones to improve their qualities to match Hollywood movies.Another potential part to be influenced is people's pride in their own movies and countries.For the reason that Hollywood movies are from America,the culture they promote is definitely the one preferred by Americans,probably not the one familiared by the local people. Predicably,it will exert a long-term influence on local culture.

However,looking at it from another perspective,it is also a chance.A great chance to boost the local movies.Not only do Hollywood movies pose a threat,but they also provide a lot of advanced concepts in filmmaking.Local movies can learn from Hollywood ones,to find why they are deeply preferred by people across the globe.Although the local ones are confronted with severe challenges,the pressure brought by the challenges will inspire the creativity to produce the more wonderful movies.

Regarding this phenomenon dialectically,it is neither just a threat nor just a chance.The external impact brought by Hollywood movies does pose a threat,but the challenge in turn boosts the development of local movies which finally help alleviate the pressure. We should accept Hollywood movies inclusively,take the essentials and improve our local ones.

However,from another perspective,it is also an opportunity.A precious chance to overcome the shortcomings the local ones have.Perhaps without the introduction of Hollywood movies,the local film industry would never have faced up to its inadequacy.It is an alarm,making them aware that fewer people would like to see their films unless they improve the quality.The pressure brought by Hollywood movies is likely to be the propulsion for the revolution of the local film industry.Local film industry can learn a lot from Hollywood ones,then take the essentials of them and combine them with their own creativity.In this manner,the local film industry will usher in prosperity.
