1. Download Lua package LuaForWindows from Google Code.
  2. Install Lua package. (Lua for Windows installs Lua language, SciTE based Lua IDE and Lua modules to the directory of you choice at install time.)
  3. Setup EditPlus
    1. Tools -> Preference -> Settings & syntax
      1. Click "Add" button;
      2. Input "lua" after "Description:";
      3. Input "lua" after "File extensions:";
      4. Input "C:\Program Files\EditPlus 2\lua51.stx" after "Syntax file:"; (Please Note: the stx file can be download here.)
      5. Input "function [a-zA-Z0-9]+\([a-zA-Z0-9 ,]+\)\n.*\nend" after "Function pattern:";
      6. Click "Apply" button.
    2. Tools -> Preference -> User Tools
      1. Click "Add Tool >>" button;
      2. Input "Lua5" after "Menu text:";
      3. Input "C:\Program Files\Lua\5.1\lua.exe" after "Command:";
      4. Input "$(FilePath)" after "Argument:";
      5. Input "$(FileDir)" after "Inital directory:";
      6. Make sure the checkbox "Capture output" is checked;
      7. Make sure the checkbox "Save open files" is checked;

      8. Click "Output Pattern" button.
        1. Make sure the checkbox "Use default output pattern" is unchecked;
        2. Input "^(.:\\.*):([0-9]):.*" under "Regular expression:"
        3. Choice "Tagged Expression1" after "File Name:";
        4. Choice "Tagged Expression2" after "Line:";
        5. Click "OK" button.

      9. Click "Apply" button.
