Reflective Journal III

When it comes to my favorite story, I'd like to come up with Barbie with three swordswomen. The story tells the process about how the four brave girls achieved their dreams, which seem to be impossible to achieve. The insistent spirit of them made a deep impression on me. Therefore, I admire the story and the four girls greatly. According to homework requirement, I turned the vision from the main character Corrine to the lady who taught the four girls with sword skills and wrote related storyboard. As far as I'm concerned, the lady has the same dream with four girls, but her dream was depressed by the real and cruel fact. Because she has been in the rain, so she'd like to help others hold an umbrella. Her quiet contribution deserves to be appreciated. After determining some of necessary elements and basic setting for making my digital story, I opened my way to my production formally, including choosing suitable plots and background music based on my storyboard.

I chose original screen pictures from the movie I selected to make my digital story more fruitful and reasonable. And the background music I also used its original theme song which is the most suitable. To emphasize plots and the moods of main characters change, I adopted several kinds of songs which can set diverse moods. Matching different plots with related music can make scene in harmony.

Due to my skills, about how to design a video and apply the editor application, aren’t so proficient, so that my digital story looks like not so fluent. I paid more attention about video’s impression. However, I don’t know how to stand out the content of chosen story.

I almost can master the basic ability to make a video or a digital story. From choosing an ideal story to completing an entire digital story, I acquired much. Moreover, I have a better understanding on digital story.

In the first place, making a digital story can arose my interest. Compared with traditional writing, it’s a new area deserving to explore for me. I enjoy the process of making a video by myself. What’s more, making a digital story can expand my skills about editing a storyboard and taking advantage of various application. Finally, I can learn new knowledge more easily and interestingly, because compared with traditional words, the combination of pictures and words is more accessible for me. Digital storytelling is a new way to tell stories using digital technology. It’s highly appealing and persuasive. Besides it can enhance the breadth and depth of communication, and help cultivate information literacy, attitudes and values.

I really enjoy the form of DMC writing. It’s not only helpful to learn all kinds of skills, but also beneficial to learn more profound understanding.
