We’re looking for strong enthusiastic developers to help us create the next generation of Bing Image Search and Bing Video Search!   Check out our recent blog post.   

The Bing Multimedia team develops advanced technologies to enable image and video search on the Web.   This includes both Bing Image Search (http://www.bing.com/images) and Bing Video Search (http://www.bing.com/videos) products.   Multimedia Experiences is a sub-team of Bing Multimedia responsible for end-to-end development of user-facing features with Microsoft’s image and video search engines.   This includes ownership of the web services and media services that power these experiences across Bing.   As one of the key drivers towards Bing user and query growth we are looking to expand our team and continue this momentum.

Who are we looking for

•      Talented developers who are self-motivated, interested in user experience and can innovate to conquer large technical projects.   People who are looking to make a big impact and get things done!

•      Ability to ramp-up quickly in new areas.  

•      Strong demonstrated ability in ASP.NET/MVC, CSS/HTML, JavaScript and web development skills.  

•      Experience in building web services, windows development and distributed systems is preferred.  

What will you work on

•      Create the next-gen platform and services to power experiences with images and videos across Bing

•      Design, develop and ship innovative new user-facing features for Bing Image Search and Bing Video Search

•      Assist in monitoring the live site to ensure rock-solid reliability and performance

•      Collaboration with partner teams across Microsoft such as Windows 8, Office and Mobile

Some projects we work on:

Image answer – integrating image content intermixed with Bing web results

Video answer – integrating video content intermixed with Bing web results

Thumbnail service – Bing’s service for thumbnail serving, dynamic image processing and caching

Webpage snapshot service – Bing’s service for generating JPEG snapshots of webpages

           

Image vertical – Bing’s image search engine for discovery and exploration of images on the web

Video vertical – Bing’s video search engine for discovery and exploration of videos on the web

Rich captions – enhancing web results with image and video content
