Do you want to be part of the exciting, competitive Mobile Devices business in Microsoft? As part of the fast growing Mobile Device OS Group, we are working on the coolest devices on the planet! Year 2014 is all about Devices. We are pushing ourselves to the limit to launch as much as possible Windows Devices out to retail market. This role is part of a dedicated team in China working directly with top China device manufacturers.

We are looking for a strong and experienced software developer based in Beijing. As you work on these cool new devices, you will be in a unique position to evaluate and provide feedback on the Windows Device platforms that will lead to higher device stability and quality. Close collaboration with internal teams in China & Redmond and external OEM partners will be essential for success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have depth experience shipping commercial software, passion for technology and customer, great analytical problem solving, Windows OS code experiences including implementing features/debugging OS codes/investigating issues/fixing bugs/come up with suggested workaround solutions. The candidate is expected to have strong communication and customer interfacing skills, high motivation, and the ability to learn quickly.

Some travel to customer sites for onsite support, debugging, testing, training, meetings, designing new features may be necessary.

Job Scope and Responsibilities:
- The position involves the design, implementation and debugging of technically complex and challenging software components to help the team work with key OEM customers based in Asia to ship more attractive, consumer centric, and highly innovative Windows Devices.
- You will also require to work on Windows OS codes and partner’s codes from low-level device drivers (BSP, KMDF, UMDF) to services, to high-level managed app codes.
- Executing with multimedia chipsets and codecs, radio stacks (CDMA/GSM/3G/UMTS), WiFi, Bluetooth stacks, user applications such as MMS/SMS clients, and mobile browsers.
- Provide deep technical support to partner engineers via onsite visits and debug sessions.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years related experiences as a strong Software development Engineer.
- Excellent C/C++ coding skills, debugging skills and highly developed design skills.
- Excellent C# managed coding skills. Silverlight coding preferred
- Proven excellent analytical problem solving skills, quality focus.
- Breadth experience and/or knowledge in building embedded software for mobile devices (Windows Phones, Win RT) highly preferred
- Ability to drill down into very complex technologies pieced together from multiple parties.
- The ability to work closely with external customers, internal development teams, and product planning is essential.
- BS or MS degree in CS or the equivalent experience is required.
