The Dragon Boat festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, is a time of great joy and excitement in China. It is a festival rich in history and tradition, honoring the memory of the ancient poet Qu Yuan.
One of the most beloved traditions of this festival is the dragon boat race. These boats are long and narrow, resembling the shape of a dragon. These boats are approaching through members hardworking, competing to reach the finish line first. The sight of these colorful boats slicing through the water is a thrilling scene that appeals crowds from far and wide.
Another essential part of the celebration is eating zongzi, which is made of rice and wrapped in bamboo leaves. Some zongzi are sweet, filled with red bean, while others are salty, containing salted egg yolk.Families gather together to make zongzi, talking about things that happened recently...
The festival also carries a message of loyalty, as it commemorates the life of Qu Yuan, who was a loyal official to his kingdom. When his advice didn’t work and his kingdom fell, he drowned himself desperately. When people heard it,they threw zongzi into the river to prevent fish from eating his body, and paddled out in boats to search for him. Today, we remember his sacrifice and celebrate the values he stood for.
