It is a time to commemorate Qu Yuan , a patriotic poet of the State of Chu during the Warring States Period , who threw himself into the river and died for his beloved homeland. In my opinion, Qu Yuan is a true person with lofty ideals. So I will review his poems each Dragon Boat Festival and treat this festival a special festival.
There are many customs, but eating zongzi , racing dragon boat and drinking realgar wine are known to household. Zongzi , which is very popular in China. It’s very interesting that there is a gap between the flavor. I am a traditional northern stomach so that I can’t stand the zongzi with meat filling. But in NanChang, almost every shop only sells that kind of zongzi. That’s terrible.
When I was young, my family would soak glutinous rice, prepare reed leaves for wrapping ,wrap the rice around sweet fillings such as jujube and bean paste, and tie them up into pyramidal shape. Everyone in family can harvest many zongzi from grandparents. So in my heart, zongzi symbolizes the love between family members.
Dragon Boat Festival 2024 is unique for me. I face a terrible obstacle in a bad mood. The long period of recovery left me feeling depressed and stressful. But Dragon Boat Festival brought me happiness and pleasure. I usually don’t back home in festival because my hometown is far from the school. This year,My mom companied with me so we celebrate together. With my family by my side, I really feel full of hope and warmth. I think that's why Chinese attach so much importance to festivals and reunions .
What’s more, I sent my blessings and advice to my friends who are facing the college entrance examination. This year's college entrance examination coincides with the Dragon Boat Festival, and I think this is a good signal for them to achieve good results. Because “zong” sounds like “zhong”.
The festival carries historical memories and spiritual connotations of China. It also a reunion day fulling of human warmth.
