the origin of agile

    So many software companys are trying agile in China, and it’s becoming more and more popular. Because it has so many advantages than the traditional software development processes.The people who adopt agile  to realize the benefits of faster delivery, higher quality, products that more closely match user needs, and so on.

    Do you know when the agile was born? In February of 2001, seventeen software developers with an interest in lightweight development methods gathered at a resort in the Rocky Mountains in Utah. As they talked, they discovered some recurring themes and ideas, which they eventually immortalized in what they called the “Manifesto for Agile Software Development”, also known as the "Agile Manifesto".

    There are various method in agile. The most popular ones are:

DSDM is probably the original agile development method. it is absolutely based on all the principles.  DSDM seems to be much less well-known outside of the UK.

Scrum is also an agile development method, which concentrates particularly on how to manage tasks within a team-based development environment.  it is the most popular and widely adopted agile method

XP (Extreme Programming) is a more radical agile methodology, it advocates frequent "releases" in short development cycles, which is intended to improve productivity and introduce checkpoints at which new customer requirements can be adopted.

   The 1st method is the most complete agile methodology,but the scrum and XP  are  easier  to implement. Especially the scrum，it is the leading agile development methodology, used by Fortune 500 companies around the world – my previous and current companies are adopting it as well.
